The Aston Shaw Great Yarmouth Sunday League saw the opening round of the League Knock Out Cup with five preliminary first round matches being played.

Holders Windmill faced new side Yarmouth White Sox and won through 3-0. The biggest winners were Camden Tavern who eased to an 8-0 win against Star & Garter.

There was joy for both Hembsy sides as the Sports & Social Club returned from Memphis Belton with a 4-1 win and Hembsy FC defeated Mariners Compass 4-2.

Leisureland won through 3-0 against fellow second division side Gorleston Rangers.

In the first division Rollesby fell to their second defeat, 2-1 at home to El Sol, and the points were shared on Mill Lane between Gorleston Albion and Acle Wanderers, the score 4-4.

In the second division there was a clash of two sides boasting 100 per cent records as Bohemians entertained Camden Tavern Reserves. And Camden still have their perfect record, winning a tight game 2-1.

Venture Albion won for the third time this season, beating Lichfield Arms 3-0. Sun FC and Gorleston Albion Reserves battled out a 3-3 draw.

n Would all clubs please note that Star & Garter play their home games at Burgh Castle.

Clubs are reminded that the scores should be phoned through by the home team to Glyn Gray by no later than 6pm on the day of the match. Failure to do so will result in a fine of £25 as per rule 11b in the handbook. Glyn can be contacted on 01493 651261 or 07504 991058.

Also all clubs have to submit a result card to registrations secretary Steve Bishop for any competitive match they play by the Wednesday following the game. Failure to do so will result in a fine of £20.

The fines and rules are clearly stated in the hand book and already this season the leagie has had to issue several fines for clubs not adhering to the requirements of running a side within this league.
