Rising Acle bowls star Daniel “Spike” Seabourne has been picked for England action.

Daniel, 16, beat a host of top adult players, including world number one Greg Harlow and ladies world champion Bex Field to win the prestigious Premier 3s tournament at Boston in March.

He had an England U18 trial at the weekend, impressing the selectors at the Rugby Thornfield Indoor Bowls Club, Warwickshire.

“I’m pleased to say he will be making his International debut in Fife in Scotland on October 12/13 in the British Isles U18 series.

“The event takes place at the Abbeyview Indoor Bowls Club in Dunfermline and Daniel has been awarded the coveted singles berth as well as playing lead in the pairs event,” said delighted father Tony.
