Having not lost yet in 2018, Gorleston face a tough away trip to Saffron Walden Town in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division tomorrow as they try to keep the run going.

Walden are currently three places and six points better off than Gorleston although they lost 5-1 when they visited Emerald Park earlier in the season.

However, they have only lost two of their 15 home league games this season.

Gorleston Reserves are at home for the second week running with Freethorpe the visitors, kick off 2.30pm.

Last weekend the Greens’ second string beat Hingham Athletic 5-3 at Emerald Park. Supporters will be pleased to hear that Jack Garrod looks well on the road to recovering from his injury after scoring a hat-trick.

Great Yarmouth Town take a break from league action on Saturday to entertain Downham Town in the quarter-finals of the Norfolk Senior Cup (1.30pm).

The Bloaters will be favourites to progress to the semi-finals and move to within one win of a game at Carrow Road against a team who are currently 11th in Division One.

Great Yarmouth return to the bread and butter on Tuesday night when they travel to face league leaders Felixstowe and Walton United (7.45pm).

They extended their unbeaten run to six games with a 2-2 home draw against Haverhill Borough at the Wellesley on Saturday.

Joint-manager Martin Sinclair saw the positives, even though his side were 2-0 up at one stage.

“After a good first half where we looked comfortable, we had a mad 10 minutes after half-time where we conceded two awful goals and then lacked any craft to get back in front,” he said.

“It was a very frustrating day which should have seen us take all three points. However the positives are that we are now unbeaten in six games and we did jump up a couple of places in the league. Hopefully we can learn from this experience.”

The Gee-Force man-of-the-match against Haverhill Borough, presented by Graham Cook, was Ben Lewis.

Great Yarmouth Reserves won 2-1 at Bungay Town Reserves. In awful conditions goals from Micky Vincent and Liam Williams secured another three points in their quest for promotion from Anglian Combination Division Four. They are away to St Andrews Reserves tomorrow.
