GYMNASTICS: East Norfolk Gymnastics Club are celebrating the award of a Sport England grant to buy needed equipment at the club.

The club, which is based at the Ormiston Venture Academy, Oriel Avenue in Gorleston, regularly attracts gymnasts from aged five to 15.

Donald Carr, lead coach at the club, said: “With this grant we will be able to purchase extra pieces of much-needed equipment, plus this will help challenge and develop the gymnasts.”

The grant was awarded as part of the Sport England small grants scheme, and help in achieving it was provided by Ian Grange from Active Norfolk.

East Norfolk Gymnastics Club meet three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. The early session is largely designed for budding gymnasts from age five and runs from 5-6.30pm.

The later session starts at 6.30pm and runs to 8pm, which aims to provide the right setting for the gymnast who is working towards competition and displays.

n If you have a child who wishes to try gymnastics then please contact the club secretary, Terry Gasking on 01502 716852.
