Congratulations go to Andrew Lawrence and his Caister Roma team on reaching the prestigious Wiltshire Cup final on Easter Monday morning.

They produced a good performance to defeat first division GY International 3-2 at Allendale. The game started with International playing neat attractive football on the floor and having majority of possession. However Caister Roma always looked like hitting International on the break.

They did take the lead after half an hour when Nick McCormack, who was a handful for the backline all afternoon, brilliantly brought down a long pass and fired superbly past the keeper. International were soon on level terms when a corner when not dealt with and Braima Embalo stabbed home. Caister went into the break ahead after a corner was floated in and beat everyone.

The second half saw International continue playing the better football with David Motty having plenty of room in midfield to dictate play. However a short corner was flicked home by McCormack to give Caister Roma daylight with 15 minutes left. GY International were back in the tie though as great work and strength from a forward saw him finish well. Caister saw out the final minutes and reached the Easter Monday final. The game was well refereed by Keith Greensides and his assistants.

Roma will face the winners of Haven Bridge v Catfield next Saturday.

In the Pub on the Shrubs Division One the title now looks to be a two- horse race.

Belton maintained their lead at as they defeated an in-form GY United 6-1 on the Magdalen. Belton go in search of a League Cup semi-final spot this week when they face Albion at New Road.

Catfield, the current champions, kept up their title charge with a good 5-0 win at Albion.

Caister CC put a run of poor form behind them as they won 3-1 at MK United.

Division Two champions-elect Haven Bridge United kept there 100% record intact with a convincing win at home to bottom side Martham A. This week they face current leaders South Yarmouth who are only a point ahead having played three games more in a game they must win to have any hope of the championship.

South Yarmouth kept the pressure up with a 4-2 win at home to Prostar Windows.

Meanwhile Filby and Runham entertained Feathers and the points were shared in a eight-goal thriller. Filby did feel hard done by the result but a point is another step in the right direction - Ryan Starkey.
