At Thetford on Saturday, Great Yarmouth finished second in the National Swimming League. The result: Thetford 229, Great Yarmouth 205, Lincoln 203, Corby 176, and Aylsham 172.

The 11/u saw Ellie Holden fight hard for her first place but Jack Utting and Isaac Kirby dominated to win the boys backstroke and breaststroke.

The 13/u girls had to be content with second places from Zoe Prettyman breaststroke, and Olivier Smith fly. For the boys James Applegate with an excellent time of 1:05 got a first in the 100m front crawl. Second places followed from Connor Webster backstroke, Keelan Pyewell breaststroke and Tom Smith fly.

Grace Hubbard and Shanise Webster continue to show their class, winning the 15/u freestyle and breaststroke. The boys found it hard going and could only finish in third and fourth places.

The open events failed to produce a win with only third places from Emily Pestka, Daniel Buck, Ollie Lee, George Goldspin and Harry Yusuff.

At Bungay on Saturday a B/C Team competed in the Broadlands League and came third.

The 9/u boys began with a win for Jack Colby freestyle and a second place for Jake Honey, third places came from Patrick Manning and Oliver Tedstone, breaststroke and backstroke.

The girls were all pushed into second places: Lauren James freestyle, Taylor Hudson freestyle. and Bethany Burwood breaststroke. Emily Acland did well to finish third in the backstroke.

Adalaide Loveland continues to improve with a first place in the 11/u freestyle and Danielle Page was unlucky not to win the breaststroke.

The boys 11/u won all four races, James Walker backstroke and front crawl and Caleb Doerr breaststroke and fly.

The 13/u girls saw Catherine Lee at last get first place with a superb fly swim. The freestyle saw Kelly Pyewell just miss out on a first place.

Lewis Beddows at last moved up a gear to finish second in the 13/u backstroke and fly specialist James Mann followed suit. Emily Pestka was the most successful for the 16/u with second places in the backstroke and I/M.
