Title delight for Great Yarmouth athletes at Peterborough

The final outdoor track and field meeting of the season was the East of England Pentathlon Championship held on Sunday at Peterborough.

Four athletes from Great Yarmouth and District Athletics Club competed in the five events consisting of hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot putt and 800 metres.

Under 13 girls Hollie Willeard and Maggie Bean faced strong opposition with 25 entries.

They performed well with some personal bests along the way and Maggie took home the Norfolk bronze medal after a strong run in the 800m.

It was end of season success for both Molly Bean (Under-17) and Amy Dowsett (Under-20) who had a brilliant day, winning both the East of England and Norfolk titles in their age groups, again after strong performances in their last event of the day, the 800 metres.
