THE next Music Circle concert of record music for classical fans is to be held on Monday at Christchurch, Great Yarmouth. The evening will be centred mainly on the British composer Vaughan Williams starting with his Wasps Overture followed by the Piano Concerto No 19 by Mozart.

THE next Music Circle concert of record music for classical fans is to be held on Monday at Christchurch, Great Yarmouth. The evening will be centred mainly on the British composer Vaughan Williams starting with his Wasps Overture followed by the Piano Concerto No 19 by Mozart. To close the first of half of the programme, will be La Valse by Ravel. The second part of the programme will be one of Vaughan Williams' greatest compositions, Job, Masque for Dancing.

The concert starts at 7.30pm with access by the Deneside door, admission £2.

REHEARSALS have now started for the Great Yarmouth Choral Society's summer concert.

Haydn's Little Organ Mass, Poulenc's Gloria, highlights from Mendelssohn's Elijah. New members are most welcome. Rehearsals will be on Monday evenings at 7.30pm at Oriel High School, Gorleston. For more information, ring 01493 843816 or just come along to the Oriel High School.

TIME is ticking away for the New Orleans jazz weekend which is to be held at Seacroft holiday village, Hemsby from March 27-29. Bands booked are the Rae Brothers Festival Band led by Steve Graham, Brian Carrack's Algiers Stompers, New Orleans Heat, the Savananna Jazz Band, Sussex Jazz Kings, the Big Bear Stompers and Dave Brennan's Jubilee Band. The new year jazz festival staged at the centre sold out well before the date. The March jazz weekend costs £130, to book contact: 01493 733610.

EASTAnglian-based jazz combo, Shakatak, from Jazz Nights feature on Pop Go The Bands about the band's make-over friom 80s pop to jazz, is scheduled for transmission on Monday, March 30 on Living TV at around 10pm.
