IT IS just a week away and it promises to be bigger and better than ever before in its 11 year history - Gorleston Cliff Top Gala.

Organisers say that with the array of entertainments, stalls and activities going on for the three days, starting on Friday July 25, they are highly optimistic this one will be the best yet.

Organisers say that with the array of entertainments, stalls and activities going on for the three days, starting on Friday July 25, they are highly optimistic this one will be the best yet.

The accent will be on fun and games that all the family can enjoy. Starting on Friday there will be a 1940s wartime dance under the large marquee on a sprung wooden dance floor mixing dancing to the Super Swing Band and the 1940s cabaret with Twice as Nice in marquee two.

During the evening Palliative Care East will be hosting a prize raffle draw. Uniforms and 40s dress styles are being encouraged. Tickets are available from selected Hughes Stores or call 01493 664140.

Activities will include martial arts displays and participations, running competitions, fitness tests for all, tai chi, sports hall athletics, volleyball, archery, table tennis under sevens five a side football competition, healthy living diet nutrition, mental wellbeing and exercise advice.

Music is from 3pm: the headliners for the day is local indie rock band Rivers with strong support from Llewelyn plus four other class support acts. A funfair will be open all day with amusements and rides in arenas eight through to 10.

Sunday July 27 features a wide variety of events taking place in the 12 themed arenas including flora crafts and hobbies, an exhibition of the young artist of the year competition, entries and winners. Live music will be on offer in arena two while arena three will host 30 plus stalls for charities and good causes.

Other attractions include model car F1 racing action and a pitch and putt competition raising money for the Save the Children fund in arena five. Arena six will host a funfair. In arena seven there will be a wide range of static displays including custom cars trucks and transport museum exhibits. There will also be the police safer neighbourhood team and local fire brigade on hand to give advice Music dance and cabaret will be happening throughout the day in arena eight. For adrenalin junkies, The Bomber reaching a height of 140ft plus makes its bow in the amusement and rides arenas nine and 10. Arena 11 will have a wide variety of active displays and helicopter rides will be happening from arena 12 all day.

It is advisable to be early to avoid disappointment. The air show will start at 5pm on Sunday climaxing with a spectacular fireworks display.

This is three days of unmissable family fun at the Gorleston Cliff Top Gala from Friday July 25 to Sunday July 27.
