The letter from the lady in Rollesby last week about overgrown vegetation raises the question has she or anyone else told the relevant authority about the problem?

Local inhabitants are the eyes of the community in such instances and in this day and age we can’t assume that “They” know about a local problem or issue unless told.

I suggest that your correspondent telephones Norfolk County Council, the appropriate authority in this case, and explain the problem. From my own recent experience I can say once a problem is known about the matter is dealt with quite quickly. The same applies to the problem of street lights which “misbehave” – tell someone! Calling Norfolk CC on 0344 800 8020 gets results.
