A new calendar showing off the beauty of one of Britain's best beaches is on sale in the hope of saving countless lives.

The sun rising over Gorleston shore has been caught in twelve dazzling images for the James Paget Charity's first-ever calendar.

All proceeds from the calendar will go towards the ongoing £1m appeal for a new surgical robot

at the James Paget University Hospital.

The surgical robot will allow complex surgeries to be performed through small incisions and will also provide enhanced three-dimensional vision to allow surgeries to be performed with more precision.

The hi-tech equipment will also allow the hospital to train future surgeons and develop research in robotic and minimally invasive surgery.

Mr Chilvers started taking photos during the lockdowns, focusing on the sunrise during his morning walks. He said he was moved to see so many people enjoying his shots after posting them online.

"I began to hone the skill of taking action shots with waves, getting wet feet on occasions but it was worth it," said Mr Chilvers.

"This has become a firm hobby and I enjoy making people's days brighter."

"It means so much when the local community gets behind the hospital."

Consultants, nurses and other health professionals from the Paget have also taken part in half-marathons and other events to help raise funds for the robot appeal.

The calendars will be on sale at James Paget University Hospital reception, charity office and other outlets in Gorleston.
