Ormiston Cliff Park Primary Academy’s budding Under-11 footballers have been crowned Norfolk County Champions after an 'incredible' final.

The talented academy pupils, part of Ormiston Academies Trust, triumphed over Taverham Junior School, securing the county trophy for the first time in more than a decade.

The match progressed to a penalty shoot-out, with winning goals scored by Paige and Sadie, and key saves by goalkeeper Amelia.

The U11s, also winners of the Great Yarmouth district competition, remain unbeaten in the league and cup this season and now advance to play in the regional finals in Kent in March.

Year 6 Lead, Tom Edwards, who set up the academy team, said: "This is such an incredible achievement for the U-11 Girls' team - we are so proud of all their hard work and commitment, as well as the team spirit they possess.

"I’m excited to see them continue to grow as players and young people.

"They are all having a fantastic time playing football, which is the most important thing when it comes to playing sport at a young age.”
