A Carterton-based art enthusiast, Avril Love, took the opportunity to 'Seize the Day' by visiting the Ashmolean Museum.
Ms Love, who is a keen painter, made the 30-minute journey to the museum with activity coordinators Chloe Holmes and Kirstey Ridley from her home, MHA The Homestead.
MHA The Homestead aims to motivate its 68 residents to either revisit activities from the past or try something new as part of the Seize the Day initiative.
Following the day trip, Ms Ridley said: “Avril has a huge passion for art and is a keen painter even now at the age of 93.
"She has her paintings displayed in her room and used to paint watercolour as a hobby in her younger days.
“It's so nice to see her passion for art and painting is still there. When we mentioned to her where we were going she was really excited and once we arrived she was really in her element.
“Ashmolean has a range of paintings which all have a story, and Avril was going around telling us all about the painting and the history behind them.
“She enjoyed a slice of cake from the cafe and when we went back home she had a huge smile on her face and told everyone where she had been.
“It was a great day, and we all had a huge amount of fun.”
