A balloon release is to be held on Gorleston beach in memory of three-year-old Ava-May Littleboy.

The release of pink balloons is on Sunday at 6pm by the area Ava-May was thrown from an inflatable trampoline and later died in hospital.

It has been organised by mother-of-two Emma Wright, 30 and of Bradwell and who had got in touch with one of Ava-May’s relatives following last Sunday’s tragedy.

The event is being supported by Gorleston-based Celebration Station, which has donated 100 biodegradable pink balloons.

Pink was Ava-May’s favourite colour and the balloon launch was suggested by a family member.

People are also being encouraged to wear pink.

Emma said: “I hope the balloon release will be a bit of a comfort to the family. Her death has shocked everyone in Gorleston.”

Ava-May was from Somersham, near Ipswich and died from a head injury.
