With reference to Christine Jay’s letter in last week’s Mercury, April 13: Council should find trees that will grow in salt water in South Quay.
I have an excellent book, Time for Trees, published by Barcham Tree specialists of Ely, a guide to species selection for the UK.
The observant among us will have noticed the recent plans published in the Mercury for the new river crossing next to Southtown Road, and which include many trees as landscaping.
