I read your article last week about the possible move of the association for the blind on Hall Quay.
Seeing the picture brought back some memories and a quest that I have been meaning to follow up for years.
The current building was probably built late 1969 or 1970 as before it was a cafe called the Greasy Spoon during the 60s run by my parents Norma and Alan Ray.
My mum often boasted she made hamburgers for the American forces. I only have the one picture of the building and one of my father behind the counter.
I have memories of sitting on the balcony eating ice cream , the train running along the quay, the trees, walking to the post office on the corner and playing with the ramps to the golden galleon boat.
I know the cafe had a coffee club and on the card it said for the young at heart.
It was quite a prominent building as everyday thousands of people would pass it coming over Haven Bridge.
