The charity night switch-on of the Barber family’s Christmas lights always draw a crowd, and this year was no different.
Their home in Caystreward, Great Yarmouth twinkles and glitters with nearly 3,000 low voltage bulbs, and is a labour of love for Philip and Jane Barber – well, more Philip really.
This year they collected for the British Heart Foundation and will be delivering the box to the charity for the money raised to be counted. Last year they handed over £150 to Great Yarmouth Lions.
Philip said: “It started and just got bigger and bigger, it’s my baby.” And the retired building contractor is most proud of the lone star which shines high above the garage door, a new feature this year.
Philip and Jane, who is a retired facilities manager, have five children between them, 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. We bet they are their biggest fans!
