I WONDER if any of your readers can help with a family history query? I have been researching my family history for a few years now with some successes. I would really like to know where my grandfather was in 1901. He does not appear in the census of that year. Ernest George Haynes was born in Great Yarmouth in 1870, lived in Blackfriars Road for most of his life and died in 1914 when, as part of the Royal Naval Reserve, he went down on the Aboukir. He spent his working life as a marine engine driver and I think he may have been away at sea at the time of the 1901 census.
