Groynes rusting on Gorleston beach

While walking on Gorleston Beach last week I noticed corroded iron spikes jutting from the sand under several of the groynes. This I have seen before when not carrying a camera.

While we cannot prevent these exposures after erosion you might agree that publicity should be given to these dangers, especially during holiday periods when children, being children, will clamber around these structures. The danger is greatest when the spikes are covered by the water of course.

These groynes are to the southern end of the beach, a little further than the car park area.
