I recently had a bowel cancer operation in the James Paget Hospital. I would like most sincerely to thank the doctors and nurses and all the staff for their excellent care. And also especially the nurses and staff at Northgate Hospital afterwards. They went out of their way to make us feel happy and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Could you please thank Kevin Jeckells, of the Great Yarmouth Gilbert and Sullivan Society, for suggesting, and then helping to organise a joint concert between them and Broadland Youth choir. It was an extremely enjoyable evening and good to see two very different choirs joining together. The money raised will be very helpful in allowing the youth choir to return, as invited, to the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, in July.

On behalf of the Moths (GSM Shellhole-GY) we would like to thank the following people for making Sunday, April 26 a very successful and moving day. Firstly Colin Smith, the stonemason, Mrs Edwards and her son David, the deputy mayor, Michael Woods and all ex-services associations and standard bearers who attended, and also the various cadet forces. Last, but not least, the three Gurkhas who travelled up from Maidstone to be with us on the day - gentlemen, you did us proud. Many thanks to the general public for their support. Without you all, the day would not have been possible.

Can I please say a big thank-you to the lovely man who returned my son's stolen wallet.

My son had his wallet stolen from a friend's house and it was found dumped in an alley way. Money was gone but credit cards were intact.

This man has restored my faith in the human race. He took the trouble to come to our home and return it. I was so shocked, I did not ask his name.

So a big thank-you to you, whoever you are.

May I through your letter page say a big thank you to the kind lady who stopped to help my 88-year-old mother when she fell over on Middleton Road, Gorleston on Thursday, April 30.

This kind lady picked my mum up, offered to take her to hospital for a check up, when this was refused took her home.

She had a cut and bruised knee and elbow, but thankfully no other damage.

Mum was very upset and worried afterward that she did not ask the lady her name. This proves that people are still willing to get involved and help others. Thank you so much.
