We moved to Rollesby nearly three years ago and were very happy to see the Broads were made a National Park area. Well, we feel very let down with the state of the area, no-one maintains the footpath or the trees and growth beside it.

They want people to come to this area which is beautiful but no-one wants to do any work weeding or cutting down over hanging trees so people have to walk on the road. You can’t get passed some overhang or the overgrown front hedges of people’s properties.

I saw a man pushing a lady in a wheelchair on the road as he could not get passed the overgrown weeds on the footpath. It’s the same when we walk our grandsons, the nettles are so bad they could get stung.

The picture was taken two weeks ago so the growth is worse now. Its the main road through Rollesby.

How many people on community service could do a bit of trimming or weeding?

So come on GYBC, get some workers out to the beautiful countryside of the Broads and do some work, make it look good and safe for people to walk around. We love showing our friends from New Zealand how beautiful this area is.
