I wonder just when the Winter Gardens will fall down. A number of us were looking at it over the holiday and we all agreed what a bad state of repair it was in. If it was to fall I wonder just where the borough council would stand as it is a grade two listed building. Would they get a fine? If so, I wonder if it would be more than it would have cost to repair it, then again it would fall on the rates.
The council says it has applied for a number of grants but they have come to nothing, as all you have to do is look at the state it is in. I would not like to think what the cost will now be to put it right today compared to what it would have cost eight years ago when it was closed.
