Police in Great Yarmouth have charged a 40-year-old man with the theft of three diamond rings worth �10,000.

John Hewitt, of Trafalgar Road, Great Yarmouth, has been charged with two counts of theft and appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Saturday, January 15, where he was remanded in custody to appear at court at a later date.

Hewitt is alleged to have stolen an 18 carrat gold diamond ring from Philip John Jewellers, in King Street, on January 7 and two 18 carrat white gold diamond rings from Bartholemews, in Regent Road, on January 13.
