STAFF at a Great Yarmouth jewellers shop had a rude awakening when they arrived for work this morning to find burglars had stolen £100,000 worth of jewellery.

STAFF at a Great Yarmouth jewellers shop had a rude awakening when they arrived for work this morning to find burglars had stolen £100,000 worth of jewellery.

The incident happened at Philip John Jewellers in King Street over the weekend and staff arrived at 9.30am today to find the back door had been smashed in and hundreds of diamond rings, gold chains and bracelets taken.

Shop owner Philip Barulis said the burglar alarm had not sounded during the incident.
