A care home’s campaign to get one of its residents 102 cards for their 102nd birthday has been met with an overwhelming response.
Olive Lord, who lives at Park House in Great Yarmouth, received 235 cards on the big day - more than two for every year of her long life.
Among them, cards from New Zealand, Massachusetts and New Jersey, as well as dozens from less far afield, including wishes from Norwich, Sculthorpe and Dereham.
The 102-year-old also received 31 handmade cards from Calthorpe Nursery children, one from the daughter of a former work colleague, and another from a fellow resident’s cat.
There was also a card from a woman whose mother had also recently celebrated her 102nd birthday.
Lisa Robson, activities co-ordinator of Park House said: “Olive was overwhelmed to receive so many cards.
“We never expected to get such a wonderful response, so we were all thrilled.”
