AROUND 120 people were evacuated from their homes after a suspicious fire last night.Police and fire were called to the incident at a small vehicle workshop in Albert Road, Great Yarmouth at around 3am today, Friday.
AROUND 120 people were evacuated from their homes after a suspicious fire last night.
Police and fire were called to the incident at a small vehicle workshop in Albert Road, Great Yarmouth at around 3am today, Friday.
The fire was swiftly brought under control however a number of oxy acetylene gas cylinders at the premises caused concern.
The people were evacuated from the immediate area as a matter of precaution and taken to the seafront Marina Centre where they were offered support and refreshments.
No injuries have been reported.
A police spokesman said: “The fire is being treated as suspicious and a police and fire investigations will continue throughout the day.”
