THE 1st Martham Guides, which consist of girls from Martham, Winterton and the surrounding area, held a coffee morning recently to raise money for the charity CAMFED. They had a cake stall, egg hunt, guess the bunnies name, sweets in a jar, lucky dip and face painting. The Guides designed and made bags to “Shout out about CAMFED and WWF.” The girls raised 158 for CAMFED and 42 pounds for WWF. This term they are planning to work towards their PARTY @Go for it badge, which is a part of the Guiding Program. Some are working towards their Baden Powel Badge, which is the last badge they complete in the Guides before moving on. They want to raise money to help girls in Africa attend School and receive an education as poverty stops eight out of ten girls in Africa from going to Secondary School.
