FIFTEEN motorists an hour are caught speeding in built up areas of Southtown, police have revealed. Officers from the Cobholm and Southtown Safer Neighbourhood Team have been carrying out speed checks on Suffolk Road and Stafford Road where the speed limit is 20mph.
FIFTEEN motorists an hour are caught speeding in built up areas of Southtown, police have revealed.
Officers from the Cobholm and Southtown Safer Neighbourhood Team have been carrying out speed checks on Suffolk Road and Stafford Road where the speed limit is 20mph. However, police found an average of 15 speeding motorists in an hour with the average speed clocked at 29.2mph.
The area is heavily built up with houses and parking on both sides of the road and Yarmouth College, Edward Worlledge Primary and Southtown Infant schools nearby.
