A GREAT Yarmouth man was charged yesterday with blackmailing a man for £500 by threatening to reveal to his wife that he had visited a gay computer website.
David Beales, 41, is alleged to have sent a text message to David Carey saying he would tell his wife that he had communicated with her husband through a gay website.
It is claimed that Beales, of Admiralty Road, sent a text message between August 1 and September 19 which made an unwarranted demand of £500 from Mr Carey with menaces.
Beales appeared before Yarmouth Magistrates and was committed to Norwich Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on November 26.
