What a coincidence, workmen came along to fix the long-neglected broken barrier to the “killer wall” at George Street and thereby obviated yet another letter of criticism, which could have been published on the same day.
Lady Luck must have had a word in their ear. As this measure originally proved inefficient to almost immediate and apparent vandalism, this same procedure portends a probable reoccurrance.
Unless this is, hopefully, only a temporary course and not mere distraction. It defies reason why the original style of barrier should not have been installed by now and obviate the necessity to question administration competence.
If needed perhaps any future problem will be given the same publicity, prompt attention and substantial remedy as with the “killer wall” at Regent Road.
