THE family of a Great Yarmouth man killed in June are waiting for his body to be released before they can set a date for his funeral.

Devoted family man Shane Boulton, 21, died from a single stab wound to the heart outside his Stanley Terrace home on June 19.

A 17-year-old girl has been remanded in custody, accused of his murder, and is due to appear before Yarmouth Youth Court on Wednesday.

However, Mr Boulton’s body can not yet be released in case a second post-mortem examination is needed.

The motocross enthusiast’s partner Claire Matheson, 31, this week spoke movingly of how the father and stepdad told his family how much he loved them on the day of his death on Father’s Day. Mr Boulton has a son Lewis, two, who has special needs, with Miss Matheson, and was also a doting dad to her daughter from another relationship, Jordain, 12. “On Father’s Day, he turned round to his stepdaughter and son and said ‘I love you,’ and he said ‘I have always got what I wanted, my own little family and a place I can call home,” Miss Matheson added.

Describing him as a “loveable rogue”, she said she met Mr Boulton, a cleaner at Haven Seashore Holiday Park in Yarmouth, when she was living in Bolton four years ago as she offered him a place to stay because he was homeless at the time.

The couple then moved down to Yarmouth, but she said her partner always wanted to move to Yorkshire because he adored the county from watching TV show Heartbeat, which is set there.

Miss Matheson said the avid Manchester United fan loved motocross racing and would take his children along with a picnic while he had practice sessions on Harfreys Industrial Estate in Yarmouth.

Since his death, she has moved with her children to live with relatives in Manchester and said her children had been badly affected as Jordain held Mr Boulton in her arms as he was dying, while Lewis cried in the night for his dad to come back.

“His death has just destroyed us, our lives are never going to be the same again. Obviously my children are suffering and my little boy is really suffering. “We have had to leave the house that was our home. Our whole life has been turned upside down,” Miss Matheson added.
