PLUMBING students at Great Yarmouth College had the chance to question an industry expert and see one of the latest innovative renewable energy products on the market.
More than 25 level three plumbing students watched a demonstration of the latest micro-combined heat power boiler that creates electricity as it heats up radiators.
Graham Davey, business development manager of the Warwick-based Baxi Group, made the special trip to meet students and staff in the college’s new 6 m Kier Building, the base for the School of Construction and Manufacturing Technologies.
Tutor Neville Atkinson said staff wanted to bring more industry professionals into college to demonstrate their new products and had invited Mr Davey after meeting him in at an event in Norwich.
He said: “Graham explained to the students in technical detail about the product and how it works.
“This type of event is great for the students. Our role is to build as many links with the industry as we can – it can only help our students.”
