A MAN arrested in connection with an incident at the James Paget University Hospital has been released on police bail.
Armed response officers were called to the hospital shortly before 7pm on Thursday following reports of a man in possession of a firearm and blade.
A nurse at the hospital was praised for dealing with the drama after spotting the man with what appeared to be a flick knife and an object resembling a handgun in a bag.
Armed police closed the ward and arrested the 39 year old suspect who has been released on bail pending further enquiries until April 6.
