A 26 year old has been jailed for assault after inflicting facial injuries on a man which required plastic surgery. Alistair Baxter, of Recreation Road, Gorleston was sentenced to nine months imprisonment at Norwich Crown Court last week after pleading guilty to unlawful wounding at an earlier hearing.

The charge related to an attack on a man on Gorleston High Street on March 7 .
Baxter, 26, had been involved in an argument with a group of people in the street when the 28-year-old victim intervened and restrained Baxter until he calmed down.
When the victim walked away Baxter hit the 28-year-old in the face causing cuts to his cheek and nose which required plastic surgery.
