POLICE, ambulance crews and a Broads Authority were called help a hire cruiser which had become trapped under Vauxhall Bridge in Great Yarmouth this morning.
The eight berth boat became wedged under the Grade II listed structure close to Yarmouth yacht station at 11am after trying to negotiate it during high tides, though there were not believed to have been any injuries.
Broads Authority spokesman Hilary Franzen said the Authority gave sailors advice on how to negotiate Yarmouth's bridges safely, which included a suggestion that sailors arrive at the bridges during slack tides.
She said information on tides was available from the Authority or by calling Yarmouth yacht station.
