the Bure Valley Railway is holding a small engines gala this weekend and welcoming four small visiting engines. The first-time visitors to Norfolk normally operate on short lines, but they'll have a chance to let off steam as they haul trains over the nine-mile narrow-gauge track from Wroxham to Aylsham.
The visiting engines are: Lydia, from the Perrygrove Railway in the Forest of Dean; Mountaineer and ROD, from the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway; and St Egwin, from the Eversham Vale Light Railway.
The Bure Valley's Andrew Barnes, organiser of the event, said: “This will give visitors a unique opportunity to experience travelling behind these smaller engines and offer a contrast to our Superpower Gala of last year.”
