A WOMAN who has spent 23 years working in various roles at Hillside Primary School, Bradwell, retired last week.
Valerie Jackman started at the school as a midday supervisor, looking after the children over the lunchtime period. An opportunity then arose to become a teaching assistant working with the children in the classroom and then, more recently, Mrs Jackman has worked in the school office.
In assembly last Thursday, she presented to the school, The Jackman Trophy, which will be presented to the winners of the annual boys' football tournament. And in return she was presented with gifts, cards and a Long Service Award to mark her retirement.
