BIG C, Norfolk and Waveney's local independent cancer charity, has once again organised their special Walk of Thoughts and are inviting people to join them in walking together to support and remember those affected by cancer.

This year's Walk of Thoughts is on Sunday, June 28 and will follow last year's beautiful route around Fritton Lake, starting and ending near Fritton House Hotel.

The six mile route takes you through woodland, fields and meadows and is a tranquil setting to remember and support those loved ones and friends affected by cancer. It is a stunning, family friendly, cross country route with a very special atmosphere.

The walk is about friends, family and colleagues coming together to remember loved ones, many feeling the walk gives time for reflection and thought, whilst also being a fun day out which helps to raise valuable funds to ensure better cancer care facilities in Norfolk and Waveney.

Last year's walk raised 15,000 which has already helped to make a positive difference to those affected by cancer in our area.

The registration and start point this year is from the front of Fritton House Hotel at Fritton Lake, the route of just over six miles, takes participants through the otherwise private woodland of Somerleyton Estate, offering secluded views of the lake and passing across beautiful and tranquil countryside.

Entrants will be given a commemorative ribbon to wear during and following the walk and those who wish to can make special dedications to those they are walking for on a dedication tree located at the start of the walk. Dedications from last year's event can be read at http://www.big-c.co.uk/walkofthoughts.

The walk is marshalled from 10am to 4pm with the last walkers being able to depart at 1pm. Well behaved dogs are permitted but must be kept on leads and cleaned up after. First aid support is also on site for walkers' safety and refreshments are available.

If you would like to take part in this event then entry forms and further information are available from Big C, on 01603 619900, by email at enquiries@big-c.co.uk or online at http://www.big-c.co.uk/walkofthoughts.
