A DOG had to be put down after its owners moved house and left it behind in a yard with a severe untreated tumour.The American bulldog bitch was also badly underweight when she was found at an address in Cathcart Street, Lowestoft, and the RSPCA has now launched an investigation.

The American bulldog bitch was also badly underweight when she was found at an address in Cathcart Street, Lowestoft, and the RSPCA has now launched an investigation.
The brindle and white-coloured dog had a large and infected tumour on her right ear, which was dripping blood. Tests established that the growth was malignant and the decision was taken to put her down.
RSPCA inspector Lucille Reed found the dog, thought to be about six years old, on March 27 and estimated she had been left to suffer for about a week.
She weighed 20.9kg compared to the expected weight for this breed of about 35kg.
Ms Reed said: “We need to find out who owned this dog as they left her in a great deal of pain and distress. She should have received veterinary treatment and it seems as though she was not being fed properly.
“It is not acceptable to just leave an animal to suffer. Owners must take responsibility for their pets.”
Ms Reed discovered the owners of the house had moved to an unknown address and efforts to find them have proved fruitless so far.
