POLICE are warning rave organisers they will adopt a zero tolerance approach towards anyone planning a rave in Norfolk over the coming weeks.

The public is also being urged to help police by remaining vigilant over the coming weeks and reporting any suspicious activity, including trespassers on private land looking at potential rave sites, large gatherings of vehicles in car parks or convoys and vans which may be carrying sound equipment.

Police have been working with landowners, the Forestry Commission and Farmwatch to offer security advice and remind landowners to keep their property locked and report any breaches which may be linked to raves.

Chief Supt Tony Cherington said: “While we continue to work with the organisers of licensed musical events, I want to make it quite clear that we will use all necessary resources to prevent, disrupt and close down illegal raves in this county. I want to re-iterate the message that these events are unsafe and disruptive to our local communities.”

Anyone with information about suspicious activity linked to raves should phone Norfolk police on 0845 4564567.
