THE BIG ONE THAT DIDN'T GET AWAY... Fishermen are renowned for their tales about catches “this big”, but Hemsby man Paul Dyble can certainly live up to his tale after catching this giant cod.
Paul couldn't believe his eyes when he caught up 41lb specimen 15 miles off Great Yarmouth.
Generally, cod weighed in between 5lb and 10lb, according to Paul.
“I never caught a cod that big before and I've been fishing since I was 14. This is an especially good cod season,” he said.
The 5ft cod was put on proud display in his Scratby shop, Dabs and Crabs, before being sold on Saturday.
Paul said customers had become hooked on the attraction, with several people returning to the shop to take pictures. “It's been the talk of the village,” he said.
