CHILDREN and adults from Stalham Junior School once again showed care and consideration for others with their recent donation to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
A cheque for �282.32 was presented to Jess Down, of the air ambulance team, by three school prefects who visited the hangar at Norwich Airport where the helicopters are based. The children were given a tour and told how the air ambulances respond to emergencies, sometimes up to 11 per day. East Anglian Air Ambulance receives no Government funding so relies solely on donations to keep in the air. The donations came from collections made at two Stalham Junior School Christmas events - the Year 4 nativity play and the school's carol service in St Mary's Church, Stalham
Headteacher Mike Beames said: “Someone very close to the school was airlifted to hospital by the air ambulance team recently. We were all so impressed by the professionalism of the pilots and the paramedics. They do such an amazing job, so everyone at the school wanted to do something to help. We are delighted to make a contribution in this way.”
