A rig worker was airlifted to hospital early this morning after becoming unwell.
An RAF Sea King helicopter from Wattisham in Suffolk was called to evacuate the man from a drilling rig about 50 miles off the coast of Great Yarmouth at about 3.30am.
A Great Yarmouth Coastguard spokesman said a doctor had requested the helicopter to attend and the patient was flown to the James Paget Hospital at Gorleston.
Further details about the nature of his illness and condition are not known.
