The date has been set for the reopening of a pub in the heart of a Norfolk village.

Closing its doors on Wednesday, October 26, The Gate on Caister High Street has already been taken over by new landlords.

The announcement of the closure of the "community hub" had been met with concern from the parish council.

However, a new Facebook group - 'The Gate Caister on Sea' - has been created, and the new managers have announced the reopening date for the landmark pub.

The Gate is set to reopen its doors at 4pm on Friday, November 18.

The new managers, Mary and Steve, said in the post: "We welcome you all and look forward to seeing you."

The pub will have live music on Saturday, November 19, with Norwich four-piece funk and soul band The High Points playing at the venue from 8pm.
