Police have issued a fresh appeal for information about a man who disappeared from Gorleston a year ago and is still missing.

Pawel Martyniak - also known as Paul - was 21 when he went missing.

He was last seen on November 30, 2021 at 6.03pm on Orde Avenue.

Despite extensive searches and checks, Mr Martyniak has still not been traced.

Appealing for anyone with information to come forward, Chief inspector Matt Dyson said: "Following the actions and searches by staff at the time of the initial report of Pawel going missing we have continued to support the family.

"This has mainly been through looking for signs of life, conducting financial checks and responding to the sightings we have had.

"We have previously deployed officers to London to assist with possible sightings. We have now had no active signs of life since his last sighting a year ago.

"We will continue to review any further information that comes to light and support his family where we can. We would appeal to anyone with any information to come forward."

Mr Martyniak studied at Notre Dame High School in Norwich, East Norfolk Sixth Form College and the University of Essex, where he studied business.

He decided to leave university midway through his first year.

Mr Martyniak, who was born in Poland and whose family moved to the UK in 2004, was also a lifeguard during the summer holidays in Hemsby.

Around the time of Mr Martyniak's disappearance, posters were distributed widely through Great Yarmouth and surrounding areas.

In May, Mr Martyniak's poster was added to a new hi-tech campaign featuring 12 missing people from Norfolk.
