Secondary school students from Great Yarmouth could be issued 'acceptable behaviour contracts' as police crackdown on antisocial behaviour.

Officers have been responding to reports across the town of low-level antisocial behaviour including teenagers throwing eggs, banging on doors and intimidation.

Eight secondary school students have been identified in connection with the reports.

Police have been informed of incidents in areas in both the north and south parts of the town, including Keyes Avenue, Ferrier Road and the Barrack Estate.

Sgt Dan Smith said: "We’ve identified eight high school children who we believe are connected to the antisocial behaviour we've been made aware of recently in North and South Yarmouth.

"We’ll be working with their parents over the coming weeks to discuss intervention and the potential for issuing orders such as Acceptable Behaviour Contracts."

This comes as beat manager PC George Smith responded on January 10 following reports of young people harassing residents in the Northgate area during the evenings.
