The popular multi-stage music event The Room returns this Saturday to a seafront Gorleston venue.

Hosted at the Ocean Room, the event is now its fifteenth year and is based on and inspired by the BBC show Later with Jools Holland. Like the programme, the event features original artists along with its own house band.

Over 15 years it has featured a multitude of music genres performed by various acts, from indie to pop, folk to country and emo rock.

Appearing this Saturday are local indie band Jehenna, who many live music fans will have previously seen perform as Scarlet.

They have recently added a new member on keyboards to expand their musical sounds to accompany Emily George’s haunting vocals.

Also playing are The Hard Working Blues Band who played The Room back in 2007 under the name Big Pink and bring a flavour of Chicago Road House Blues to the night.

Taking the stage is also Robin Evans, a solo act from Norwich whose slide guitar playing and clever lyrics are regulars at many of the city’s music venues.

The last guest act is Swamptruck (Goodtime Band).

Hailing from Cambridgeshire, the band are regulars on the festival circuit throughout the UK and have headlined the Cambridge Folk Festival.

Finally, the Rooms' very own resident house band the H-Gang will be performing.

They will feature some of the best local musicians and provide the cover tracks for the night and the finale to the event.

Joining the band on vocals this time will be Emily George from Jehenna and Jeanette George from Songbird along with the band's regular vocalist JJ Darby from the Bloodshake Chorus.

The Room takes place on Saturday, February 4 at the Ocean Room in Gorleston.

Doors open at 7.02pm with the show starting promptly at 8.02pm. Tickets are available online, £10 in advance and £13 on the door.
