A former Eastenders actress visiting Great Yarmouth has shown her support for a local diabetes charity as her son has Type 1.
Nina Wadia, best known for playing Zainab Masood in the BBC soap, was in Great Yarmouth on March 18, when she met with campaigners from Diabetes Norfolk.
Diabetes Norfolk is a local charity whose goal is to help people of all ages living with diabetes by providing grants to improve the support and services available in Norfolk.
The charity recently donated £25,000 to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital towards an Oct-A eye-scanner to help prevent blindness caused by diabetes.

Since Diabetes Norfolk was established in 1987, members have raised and donated more than £2.5m but say they “need more funds to keep up the great work we do”.
Ms Wadia’s son has Type 1 diabetes and is a campaigner and fundraiser for research into the condition.
Previously, she won £50,000 on a quiz show which she donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation whose mission is to find a cure.
