The wait is finally over as the hotly-anticipated new ride at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach has been announced.

The much-loved Norfolk attraction has just revealed the new addition will be called Polar Express, complete with 20 cars and a "kiss cover".

It is a "Musik Express" ride and will whizz carriages around in a sloped circle, similar to family favourite Mulan which left Pleasure Beach after 20 years in 2019.

It is currently being manufactured in Italy and is set to arrive in the seaside town this spring.

Great Yarmouth Mercury: The Mulan ride saw visitors finish the ride in the dark.

In a post on social media, Pleasure Beach said: "As a company, we always try our best to listen to feedback from our customers and there was an overwhelming amount of people saying how much the Mulan has been missed since 2019.

"We are confident that the Polar Express will prove to be the perfect replacement and provide just as many laughs and memorable moments in the future."

The Facebook post has received hundreds of likes, with regulars saying they are "over the moon" at its arrival.

This year, the entry options are either a wristband with unlimited one-day entry or a £5 or £10 Fun Card with five or ten ride credits respectively.
