A rescue centre in Norfolk has asked for help to feed the large number of kittens currently in their care.

RSPCA East Norfolk is caring for 18 kittens, many of whom came into their care after owner's cats gave birth to offspring they couldn't support.

Jayne Webster from the RSPCA, said: "Many kittens have to be taken into care when owners can no longer cope with or afford them.

"Some were unwell, underweight or with terrible cat flu.

"We would be so appreciative if anyone could help us feed our fur babies, and could do this by either dropping in at our local welfare clinic on Tarworks Road, Great Yarmouth."

A heavily pregnant cat was found wandering outside the centre, thought to be abandoned after owners can often no longer cope or afford her and the kittens.

She was cared for by our branch members and experienced fosterers.

The centre has a low-cost neutering scheme for those on low income, to try and prevent so many kittens being born unwanted each year.
